8/2/18 - Britt

Today's work was making the rest of the whistle bits. The base was machined and hex cut in the rotary table chuck. Same went for the diffuser in the base, having 3 flats that line up with the ports on the whistle.

The base and diffuser were silver soldered with the smallest pieces that sat on the job before heating.

The centre rod and acorn nut were machined from 1/16" tobin bronze rod and the nut from 1/8" hex.

Fits together well and the onlookers should be pleased to see a small jet of steam coming from the whistle. The real whistle is to be under the smokebox.

Happy steaming!

Nigel
